I'm in the ho-ho-holiday spirit!
I am feeling the spirit of Christmas early this year! Got the tree up, getting ready for our annual Christmas Party next Saturday night, my son is practicing for the Christmas Program at church, got most of my shopping done (yay!).
I think putting up the tree is the thing that gets me really geared up. Decorating for the holidays was a special time for my Mom and me when I was growing up. We took a whole day to get the tree just right, with tons of lights and all of the ornaments that we had collected through the years. Then we would decorate anything and everything else inside and outside the house that would sit still long enough.
Now that I'm grown with two kids of my own, I still have my childhood collection of ornaments on my Christmas tree, and each year I add a new one for my son and one for my daughter. When they get older and have a family of their own, I will pass them on along to keep the tradition going.
There's so much to celebrate this time of year, but even with all of the hype and stress, I am instilling in my children the TRUE meaning of this joyous celebration. As we all have heard so many times, Jesus Is The Reason For The Season!
To you and yours, many blessings for the holidays and every day!
